Azra Jamal is zonal manager sales and marketing in a well-known pharmaceutical company in Sukkur. She has worked in the sector for 23 years. She has been active in social and political work for the welfare of women and children. She has served as a member Municipal Corporation for 4 years and is currently the General Secretary of Women’s Wing of PPP. Azra is a member of National Steering Committee of Women Workers Alliance (WWA). She joined the alliance in 2020 during a meeting with other women social activists, who voted for her to join Women Workers Alliance due to her active role in advocacy for women’s issues and her contacts with various stakeholders that could prove beneficial for the cause of women’s labour rights. She along with other WWA members got anti-harassment inquiry committees notified in various institutes including, Deputy Commissioner’s office, factories, Municipal Corporation Office and the office of Deputy Inspector General Police. Another cause that she is championing to improve the conditions of women workers is enforcement of minimum wage to improve the conditions of minimum wage women workers.
